DECISION AND REASONS:
--Following the running of Race 8, the Speight's Mobile Pace, an information was laid by Stipendiary Steward Mr N. G. McIntyre against Mr D. J. Gillespie, licensed trainer of RED DI (5), alleging a breach of Rule 849(2). It was alleged that the defendant presented RED DI without a numbered saddle cloth.
--Mr Gillespie had indicated on the information that this breach was admitted and that he did not wish to attend the hearing.
--Mr McIntyre stated that the horse had gone on to the track before it was noticed that it did not have a numbered saddlecloth.
--Penalty: Mr McIntyre recommended a fine of $200-00 for this breach. We were satisfied that previous breaches of this rule had been met with similar fines, and Mr Gillespie was fined the amount of $200-00.
