| -- DECISION AND REASONS: --Following the running of Race 8, the Allan Pullar 60th Birthday Pace, --an Information Instigating a Protest against the 4th placing of "Umrigar" (9) was laid by Stipendiary Steward Mrs K. R. Williams alleging a breach of Rule 869(7B). The information reads as follows. ------"This is a protest against horse number (9) placed 4th by the judge on the grounds of 869(7B." --Rule 869(7B) reads as follows. --"Where any horse or its sulky wheel moves inside the track marker line for more than 30 metres in the last 600 metres of a race the horse shall be disqualified from that race except where it is established that the breach was caused by interference by another horse or horseman." ----The driver and trainer of "Umrigar". Mr T. M. McMillan advised that he did not dispute this protest and agreed that his horse should be disqualified. Mrs Williams used video coverage to show that "Umrigar" had struck several track markers when rounding the final bend. --The protest was upheld and the amended places are as follows --1st - (12) Here Comes Soky --2nd - (16) Smart Blazer --3rd - (8) D Cam Fly --4th - (5) Rebel Zeus --5th - (11) Triple X --6th - (2) Drag Racer ---- ------ --
