--Stipendiary Steward Mr P Knowles alleged that Mr A Scobie (HILLARYS HOME) used his whip excessively over the final 250m of the race.
--Mr Knowles used front-on video to present his case. It was clear that from the time Mr Scobie moved into the passing lane at the start of the straight, he used the whip continuously to the line, no respite.
--The Committee counted approximately 32 strikes.
--Decision:
--The committee found the charge proven.
--Penalty:
--When considering penalty the committee took into account that Mr Scobie had had no charges over the past six months. Also that there was ?continuous' use of the whip.
--A fine of $250 was imposed.
