| -- An information instigating a protest lodged by Stipendiary Steward Mr J. Muirhead against LOST IN THE PARK driven by Mr G. Bennett placed 9th by the Judge on the grounds of breaking from its gait free of interference in the home straight and galloping for about the last 110m of the race. Mr J. Whittaker, trainer, endorsed the information - "I do not contest the protest". Mr Muirhead demonstrated the breach by use of the video film. It was clear that LOST IN THE PARK had galloped for at least the last 110m of the race. Mr Muirhead recommended that the horse be disqualified. ----DECISION AND REASONS: ----The committee was satisfied by the evidence given and the admission by Mr Whittaker that the protest was properly made out. The committee was required by the Breaking Horse Regulation to either relegate or disqualify LOST IN THE PARK. The committee decided that it was appropriate to disqualify the horse and did so. ----The final placings then to be: ----8th - UNCLE PETRIKA --9th - PRINCE SUNDON --10th - SUMTHINGABOUTMAORI --11th - WHATSUNDERMYKILT --12th - LOST IN THE PARK |
