Following the running of Race 3, the Criterion Hotel Pace, an information was laid by Stipendiary Steward Mr N. G. McIntyre against Mr A. W. Thomas, the trainer of “Lord Brassey” (10), alleging a breach of Rule 864(2)(d), in that the boring pole was not correctly affixed and came adrift during the race.

Following the running of Race 3, the Criterion Hotel Pace, an information was laid by Stipendiary Steward Mr N. G. McIntyre against Mr A. W. Thomas, the trainer of “Lord Brassey” (10), alleging a breach of Rule 864(2)(d), in that the boring pole was not correctly affixed and came adrift during the race.

Mr Thomas had indicated on the information that he admitted this breach of the Rules and also that he did not wish to be present at the hearing.

Penalty: Mr McIntyre advised that Mr Thomas had no previous relevant convictions and recommended a fine of $100-00. I was satisfied that a fine of
