House and placed 11th against LOST IN THE PARK driven by Mr G. Bennett and placed 10th, on the grounds of excessive galloping in the home straight. Mr J. Whittaker, trainer represented the connections of LOST IN THE PARK. Mr Muirhead demonstrated the incident by use of the video film. LOST IN THE PARK galloped for about the last 100m of the race. On the other hand, CASTLETON?S MISSION trotted correctly for the whole of the race. Mr Whittaker indicated that he did not wish to contest the protest. Mr Muirhead suggested that LOST IN THE PARK should be relegated to immediately behind CASTLETON?S MISSION rather than be disqualified as other horses who finished in nearby placings had also galloped. The Committee took into account the evidence given and thereby upheld the protest, relegating LOST IN THE PARK to 11th place and promoting CASTLETON?S MISSION to 10th place. -- |
