Following race 5 an information pursuant to Rule 520(4)(c} was lodged by Stipendary Steward Mr M Williamson who alleged that J Waddell failed to make the contracted weight for the horse FISCAL FOLLY.

Mr Williamson said that , when spoken to, Mr Waddell said that he had advised his agent, Mr M Dillon, at the beginning of the week that his minimum riding weight would be 56 kg for the week’s riding as he had just finished a suspension and it would take time for him to get any lighter. Mr Williamson said that when Mr Waddell discovered the problem he had acted responsibly in advising them of it.

Mr Waddell said that he had been riding the two previous days so it wasn’t till Friday morning that he had checked his rides for the dayand discovered the error.

Mr Williamson said that Mr Waddell was the person who had to take responsibility for the offence and asked for a fine in the vicinity of $200.

The committee consequently imposes a fine of $200 for Mr Waddell’s breach of Rule 520(4)(c}.
