Driver G Smith appeared on behalf of the connections of HONEY AND FIRE and contested the protest.
----
Mr Taumanu gave his view of events and showed video footage of the relevant stages of the race. It showed HONEY AND FIRE hanging badly, cutting in and running over two pylons on the final turn before straightening. Mr Taumanu told the Enquiry the pylons on the bend were 10.2 metres apart.
----
After viewing the footage both parties agreed there was insufficient distance covered inside the pylons to support the protest.
----
Accordingly the protest is dismissed and the Judges placings will stand.
