Following race 8 an information was filed pursuant to Rule 871(1)(d) when it was alleged by the informant, Stipendiary Steward Mr J P Oatham, that C Lammas apprentice rider of CHAMPAGNE HEIGHTS committed a breach of that rule
| -- DECISION & REASON: --Following race 8 an information was filed pursuant to Rule 871(1)(d) when it was alleged by the informant, Stipendiary Steward Mr J P Oatham, that C Lammas apprentice rider of CHAMPAGNE HEIGHTS committed a breach of that rule when "approximately 200 metres from the finish moved inwards for a run on the running rail when not the required distance clear of FLAME PROOF (M Innes) who had to check her mount sharply. ----Mr C Lammas is an apprentice and is assisted by Mr J Gibbs. Mr C Lammas pleaded guilty at an early stage. The only issue for determination is penalty. After hearing submissions on penalty from Mr Oatham and Mr C Lammas, and taking into account the following ? --Guilty plea --Good record --Interference was significant ----We determine that a suspension be imposed. We consider a starting point of 4 days, but taking into account your plea of guilty and Mr Gibbs' submission we impose a 3 day suspension from the conclusion of racing on 12.12.04 up to and including Saturday 18.12.04 (3 days). ------
