Following the running of the Frank Casey Suit Hire 1600 Mr P. A Taylor, rider of MACINALLY, admitted a charge careless riding under rule 871(1)(d).
| -- Decision --Following the running of the Frank Casey Suit Hire 1600 Mr P. A Taylor, rider of MACINALLY, admitted a charge careless riding under rule 871(1)(d). --At the 300 metres Mr Taylor angled MACINALLY out to come around horses and in doing so made contact with and severely checked SABLE CREST (D. Bradley). --Mr McCutcheon, Chief Stipendiary Steward, referred to Mr Taylor's very good record and while noting the effects of the contact between the horses made the interference look more severe than it was he nevertheless called for a term of suspension. --Mr Taylor generally agreed with Mr McCutcheon's assessment of matters in the course of his mitigating remarks. --The Committee considered the degree of carelessness and interference caused to SABLE CREST warranted a term of suspension. In setting that the Committee took into account Mr Taylor's record and his candour in relation to the quality of his ride. He was suspended from the close of racing on 31 January 2005 until the close of racing on 13 February 2005, a five day suspension. ---- -- -- --
