Following the running of race number 7 an information was lodged by Stipendiary Stewards under rule no. 870 (2)(d) instigating a protest against KEEPYAGUARDUP, horse no. 6 placed 4th by the Judge.

The Stipendiary Stewards said that in the run home KEEPYAGUARDUP left its correct gait and remained out of that gait for between 65 and 70 metres this is in excess of the distance allowed under the Breaking Horse Regulations. The Stipendiary Stewards showed the video footage of the last 100 metres of the race which clearly established that KEEPYAGUARDUP was out of its correct gait for at least 65 metres.

It was noted from the information that the connections of the horse did not contest the protest. KEEPYAGUARDUP is accordingly disqualified from the race.
