Following the running of the Palamountains Equine Bone & Joint Handicap Trot, Stipendiary Steward Mr P Knowles lodged a protest under the Breaking Horse Regulations and Rule 870 (3) against the second horse, CHAS LUNEY

Following the running of the Palamountains Equine Bone & Joint Handicap Trot, Stipendiary Steward Mr P Knowles lodged a protest under the Breaking Horse Regulations and Rule 870 (3) against the second horse, CHAS LUNEY, driven by N Williamson, on the grounds that it broke approximately 100 metres from the finish and failed to regain its gait for the remainder of the race.
--Mr Knowles sought disqualification of CHAS LUNEY under Rule 1003 (2).
--A video of CHAS LUNEY breaking and continuing to gallop over the concluding 100 metres of the race was demonstrated by Mr Knowles.
--Mr Williamson acknowledged the recommendation that CHAS LUNEY be disqualified.
--The Committee finds that CHAS LUNEY galloped for the final 100 metres of the event and is therefore disqualified pursuant to Rule 1003 (2).
--The amended placings are therefore :
