--

The placings were: 1st - 3, 2nd - 5, 3rd - 14, 4th - 15, 5th - 16, 6th - 11.

--

--

The trainer of Ruby N Diamonds, Mr B Hill, representing the connections of the horse, advised the stewards, and endorsed the Information, that he did not contest the protest.

--

--

Explaining the circumstances, stipendiary steward Mr McIntyre referred to the video of the race. He identified Ruby N Diamonds (K Hill) and showed that, after about 200metres of the race, Ruby N Diamonds broke from its gait and galloped for up to 200metres, that is, in excess of 150metres as specified in the Breaking Horse Regulations. He said that, as a result, the horse was in breach of Rule 870(3) and he sought disqualification of the horse.

--

--

In this protest, which was not contested, the committee is satisfied that Ruby N Diamonds broke from its gait shortly after the start of the race and, in galloping in excess of 150metres, was in breach of Rule 870(3) and the Breaking Horse Regulations. The protest is upheld and Ruby N Diamonds is disqualified from the race. The amended placings are now:-
