----Following the running of Race 4 the Stipendiary Stewards lodged an information instigating a protest in respect of horse Number 9 [Charlotte Galleon] placed 4th by the judge. The protest was lodged under Rule 870 [3] and the Breaking Horse Regulations. The Stipendiary Stewards alleged that Charlotte Galleon left its correct gait approximately 100 metres from the finish of the Race and remained out of its gait until after the finishing line.
--At the outset of the hearing it was noted by the committee that the connection of Charlotte Galleon in writing had acknowledged that they did not contest the protest and did not wish to be heard.
--The Stipendiary Stewards demonstrated the incident with the use of the video evidence which clearly showed Charlotte Galleon leaving its correct gait approximately 100 metres from the finishing post and remaining out of its correct gait until after the finishing line. The Stipendiary Stewards sought disqualification.
--The Committee has given consideration to the factors in the protest and agrees that Charlotte Galleon should be disqualified from the Race.
--The stake bearing placings now read 11, 6, 10, 1, 8.
