Following the running of Race 8, the Rosco Contractors Pace, an information was laid by Stipendiary Steward Mr N. G. McIntyre alleging a breach of Rule 870(3) and the “Breaking Horses” Regulations by “Explosive Turk” (2) driven by Mr R. D. Holmes.

Following the running of Race 8, the Rosco Contractors Pace, an information was laid by Stipendiary Steward Mr N. G. McIntyre alleging a breach of Rule 870(3) and the “Breaking Horses” Regulations by “Explosive Turk” (2) driven by Mr R. D. Holmes.

It was alleged that “Explosive Turk” had broken from its correct gait in the straight and had been in a break for more than 50 metres when it reached the winning post. Mr R. D. Holmes, the driver of the horse, did not attend the hearing, but he had endorsed on the information – “I do not contest the protest”.
----
Accordingly “Explosive Turk” was disqualified from 4th place, the amended places being as follows.
