Following Race 3, Stipendiary Steward Mr Renault alleged that Ms Young drove GLORY R carelessly with approximately 500 metres to run, causing her horse to strike the wheel of THE PERFECT DRIVE and break, losing all chance.
--Ms Young, who was assisted by Licensed Horseman, Mr P D Young, admitted the charge. Mr Renault demonstrated that Ms Young's horse failed to keep its line on the bend with 500 metres to run. Mr McIntyre stated that he considered the offence to be at the lower end of the scale.
--Under Rule 1111(d) the Committee found the charged proved. Mr McIntyre sought a fine of $200 or 2 days' suspension. Ms Young indicated that she preferred a fine.
--Taking into account Ms Young's admission of the breach, that this was her first charge under any Rule, and that the offence was towards the lower end of the scale, the Committee imposed a fine of $200.
