DECISION AND REASON
--Following Race 9 an Information was filed pursuant to Rule 871(1)(d) ? Careless Riding, when it was alleged by the Informant, Mr J Oatham, that Mr J Waddell, rider of OUR PRIZED ROSE moved in when riding his horse out to the finish, and in doing so causing a check to KUKRI LANE, ridden by Ms L Tiley and as a result Ms Tiley lost ground.
--Mr Waddell pleaded guilty to the charge.
--Mr Coles demonstrated both video films and showed Mr Waddell moving in, approximately one and a half horse widths into the line of KUKRI LANE, ridden by Ms L Tiley when not sufficiently clear. This caused Ms Tiley's mount to receive quite a severe check.
--Mr Waddell provided an explanation referring to the difficult conditions he was under. He also said he straightened his mount initially but did not realise Ms Tiley was on his inside when he moved in the second time.
--Mr Oatham submitted that a suspension was appropriate. He emphasised Mr Waddell's good record, but Ms Tiley had received quite a severe check.
