Following Race 6 an Information was filed pursuant to Rules 860 and 865(3) in that Mr Tweedie went to the start without permission and spoke to the Starter regarding the loading of the horse HOPES AND DREAMS into the barrier.
| -- DECISION AND REASON --Following Race 6 an Information was filed pursuant to Rules 860 and 865(3) in that Mr Tweedie went to the start without permission and spoke to the Starter regarding the loading of the horse HOPES AND DREAMS into the barrier. --Mr Coles stated that Mr Tweedie was observed to walk round to the 1670 metre barrier and speak to the Starter and Assistant Starter. He said that he viewed it as a serious breach of the rule, which prohibits unauthorised persons from being at the start. --Mr Tweedie said that he was looking for Mr Coles to discuss the order of loading his horse into the barrier when he noticed the horses about to be loaded. He said he acted on impulse when he observed this and decided to go straight to the start instead to make his request directly to the Starter. --The Committee agrees with Mr Coles that this offence cannot be treated as a minor offence and consequently impose a fine of $500. |
