DECISION AND REASONS:
--Following the running of Race 8 an information was lodged by Stipendiary Steward Mr B. Williams against Mr and Mrs C. and J. De Fillipi, licensed trainer of Wilson Jay (4), alleging a breach of Rule 864(1) and (2)(a). It was alleged that a rein pricker was attached to a rearing strap which was unapproved gear.
--Mr and Mrs De Fillipi had indicated on the Information that they admitted this breach of the Rules and that they did not wish to be present at the hearing.
--Mr Williams recommended a fine of $200-00 for this breach, this being the same fine imposed recently for an identical breach of the Rules. We were satisfied that this was an appropriate fine and Mr and Mrs De Fillipi were fined the sum of $200-00.
