--RACE NO: 1 INFORMATION NO: 6052 RULE NO: 638 (1) (d)
--Following race 8, an information was filed pursuant to rule 638 (1) (d) the Informant, Stipendiary Steward Mr A Coles alleged, that near the 300 metres Apprentice Jockey Ms D Johnson (BIG SHOT) allowed her mount to shift in when not the required distance clear causing THE CLOSER (A.Ng) to be checked.

--RACE NO: 1 INFORMATION NO: 6052 RULE NO: 638 (1) (d)
--Following race 8, an information was filed pursuant to rule 638 (1) (d) the Informant, Stipendiary Steward Mr A Coles alleged, that near the 300 metres Apprentice Jockey Ms D Johnson (BIG SHOT) allowed her mount to shift in when not the required distance clear causing THE CLOSER (A.Ng) to be checked.
--Ms Johnson admitted the breach and declared she did not need a representative.
--Stipendiary Steward Mr J McLaughlin demonstrated the video films which clearly showed BIG SHOT ridden by Ms Johnson shifted in taking the rightful line of THE CLOSER ridden by Mr A. Ng. He said Ms Johnson was only ¾ lengths clear when she shifted inwards.
--Ms Johnson admitted she should have put the stick away a couple of strides earlier to stop the horse from shifting in onto THE CLOSER.
--PENALTY SUBMISSIONS
--Mr Coles said the shift inwards was at the lower end of the scale. He produced Ms Johnson record which showed 4 pervious careless riding charges in the last 12 months. He said it was a good record as Ms Johnson was a rider who travelled to the South Island regularly. He believed a 4 day suspension would be appropriate.
--Ms Johnson said she had firm commitments at Counties on December 16th.
--PENALTY
--The committee carefully considered all evidence and submissions presented. We viewed the interference is at the lower end and give Ms Johnson credit for her guilty plea. We granted Ms Johnson request that the suspension starts after racing on December 16th.
--Accordingly we impose a suspension from race riding to start after racing on the 16th December 2009 and to conclude after racing on the 23rd December 2009 (4 days)
