Mr. Neal told the committee that Mr. Lammas contacted the Stewards early in the morning to say that he was a kilogram over for two of his rides.

His record showed an earlier breach of this rule on the 23/3/09 at Canterbury.

Mr. Lammas said that he regretted being unable to make the weight but he had notified both trainers and organised replacement riders for them.

In coming to a decision on penalty we had regard to Mr. Lammas’s record, his early notification to both Stewards and affected trainers and his help with engaging other riders.

He is fined the sum of $200.00
