Mr Brett you?ve admitted a breach of rule 871(1)(d) in race 3 in that with approximately 300 metres to race HUKILD DASPIDA moved inwards when insufficiently clear and checked ROSIE O?REILLY ridden by N Hanley.
----Mr Lawson, assistant stipendiary steward, has demonstrated on the videos that just after leaving the false rail and as Mr Hanley was about to take a gap between your mount and that of Mr Johnson, you shifted in when not sufficiently clear causing Mr Hanley to check out.
----You have asked us to consider and we do take into account that your horse HUKILD DASPIDA was green and was wearing a pricker. Mr Ching in asking for a suspension has said jockey safety was compromised by your actions. You have openly admitted this and have also accepted that a suspension is appropriate. Mr Ching has said the incident is mid to high range. We view it as mid range and agree that jockey safety was in issue. Taking into account these matters and your very good record, with no breach of this rule for 12 months, and your admission of the breach, we suspend you for 3 South Island racing days from the end of riding on December 7 up to and including 23 December.
