Under Rule 508 (2) & (5) Mr Anderton pleaded guilty to a charge arising out of the Wyndham meeting at Gore on 24 October last in that he failed to declare a rider for WESTEND LADY by the required time.

Under Rule 508 (2) & (5) Mr Anderton pleaded guilty to a charge arising out of the Wyndham meeting at Gore on 24 October last in that he failed to declare a rider for WESTEND LADY by the required time. Mr Anderton indicated he admitted the charge and did not wish to be present at the hearing. We thus find the charge proved.

Mr Ching stated Mr Anderton’s explanation was that he was assisting his father attend to a badly injured horse at the time. Mr Ching was not sure when the rider was declared but notification was within 24 hours of the stipulated time. Mr Anderton has no previous breaches of this rule.

Mr Ching asked for a $50 fine. We concur with this submission and this is the penalty imposed on this occasion.
