Under Rule 871 (1) (d) Mr Goodwin lodged a information alleging S Doyle the rider of GOVERNOR BOIS permitted his mount to shift out near the 200 metre resulting in ROANAH to be checked.

Under Rule 871 (1) (d) Mr Goodwin lodged a information alleging S Doyle the rider of GOVERNOR BOIS permitted his mount to shift out near the 200 metre resulting in ROANAH to be checked.

--
Mr Goodwin read the rule and the breach was admitted by Mr Doyle.
--
Mr George demonstrated on the films available Mr Doyle allowing his mount to move out at about 200 metres from the finish when not the required distance clear, taking the line of ROANAH and checking that horse.
--
Mr Wheeler stated there were mitigating circumstances and Mr Doyles obligations were to look for a run,the horse has changed stride when moving out and it looked worse than it was.
--
Penalty. Mr Goodwin  in presenting S Doyles record informed the committee of one previous charge of this rule in April resulting in a three day suspension and stated that this offence where he allowed his mount to move out when not the required distance clear warranted a suspension.
--

Mr Wheeler in submissions appealed to the mitigating circumstances for leniency but that a monetary penalty is imposed.

--

The committee have taken the submissions from both parties into account, Apprentice jockey S Doyle did admit the breach and agree he was obliged  to look for a run , but not at any one else expense. Therefore the committee find on this occasion a term of suspension is appropriate and   you are suspended from the close of racing on Wednesday 23rd May up to and including the close of racing on Thursday 31st May.
