An Information was laid by Stipendiary Steward Mr T Taumanu alleging that Trainers S Reid and G Rogerson breached Rule 864 (2) (d) in that the earhood on JUST WICKED failed to activate when Driver Mr S Lawson attempted to remove it during the race home.

--The trainers admitted the charge and were represented at the hearing by Mr T Cowan.
Video footage of the race was presented which displayed the breach and Mr Taumanu asked for a penalty of $250, the recommended starting point.
Mr Cowan, in acknowledging the breach, produced the earhood and explained what had occurred and submitted its failure to function had not affected the outcome of the race.
Taking into account the guilty plea, the impact of the offending and the cooperation shown the inquiry a fine of $200 was ordered.
