| -- An information instigating a protest lodged by Stipendiary Steward Mr J Muirhead, on behalf of UMOJA, driven by Mr R Downey, placed 8th by the judge against BEAUDIENE OLO driven by Mr S Doody, placed 5th by the judge, on the grounds of interference with about 400m to run. Mr Doody endorsed the information "I do not contest the protest." He informed Mr Muirhead he did not wish to be present at the hearing. Mr Muirhead demonstrated the incident by use of the video film. BEAUDIENE OLO broke with about 400m to run causing interference to MIDNIGHT ROCKET, driven by Mr T Herlihy, and also to UMOJA which broke and lost all chance, finally finishing in 8th place. MIDNIGHT ROCKET eventually finished 3rd. The video was clear in that the interference did affect the chances of UMOJA gaining a stake bearing position. In the circumstances BEAUDIENNE OLO was relegated to 8th place, that is immediately behind UMOJA. --The Judge's placings then to be 4 ? 9 ?5 ? 1 ? 6 ? 2. |
