--Mr Ching began by stating that shortly after Race 4 he put calls over for Miss Cameron. Mr Scott (Race Course Inspector) also tried to ring and text her but Ms Cameron was unable to be contacted.
--Miss J Cameron admitted leaving the course without permission but asked that the following mitigating factor be taken into consideration.
--Firstly, no stewards came to see her between Race 3 and Race 4. She took time to shower, spend time in the birdcage and to watch Race 4. She stated that Mr Nyahan (trainer of Mortification) has wanted to leave the course, because the horse was becoming agitated.
--Miss Cameron had no cell phone coverage for some time, and on receipt of the text, she pulled over and contacted Mr Davidson.
--In summary – Mr Ching stated that it was the responsibility of the jockey to be asked to be excused. Mr Ching stated that Miss Cameron had not been charged under this rule over the past 12 months. He suggested a Fine in the range of $200 - $300.
--DECISION:
--The Committee decided that a fine of $200 be imposed. The Committee reminded Miss Cameron of her responsibilities whilst leaving the course.
