Following Race 6 an information was filed pursuant to Rule 871(1)(d) when it was alleged by the informant, Stipendiary Steward Mr A Coles, that Mr MT Coleman rider of COURAGEOUS BELLE committed a breach of that rule
| -- DECISION AND REASON: --Following Race 6 an information was filed pursuant to Rule 871(1)(d) when it was alleged by the informant, Stipendiary Steward Mr A Coles, that Mr MT Coleman rider of COURAGEOUS BELLE committed a breach of that rule when he shifted out when not the required distance clear of FLEET COMMANDER ridden by Mr A Calder who had to check his mount. ----Mr Coleman admitted the charge. ----Mr J Oatham demonstrated the video and showed that at the 450 metre mark Mr Coleman's mount, COURAGEOUS BELLE moved out and took the line of FLEET COMMANDER when not the required distance clear. As a result of the interference FLEET COMMANDER lost considerable ground. ----PENALTY: ----Mr Coles said that as a result of Mr Coleman's error of judgement FLEET COMMANDER did suffer significant interference and asked for a suspension in spite of his good record. Mr Coleman had nothing to add. ----The committee, after taking into account the submissions, as well as the severity of the offence, suspend Mr Coleman from the conclusion of racing on 16 April until the conclusion of racing on 25 April 2005. |
