Mr Coles the informant stated Mr Chippendale is the Stable Foreman for Mr R Collett , who is away on holiday. He had 2 horses to saddle up in Race 7, and it was a genuine mistake. Mr W Robinson noticed the lead bag missing at plate inspection.

Mr Chippendale said one of his staff was in the swab box and a friend assisted him to saddle up.

Mr Coles suggested a fine of $ 500.

The Committee considered all the evidence and in imposing a fine of $ 500 pointed out to Mr Chippendale how fortunate he was the mistake was discovered by Mr Robinson and his obligations under the rule.
