| -- DECISION & REASON: ADJOURNED MATTER --Mr Williamson is charged with careless riding, a breach of Rule 871(1)(d). The information alleges that Mr Williamson on 10.11.04 (race 2) shifted outwards on his mount WAITOKI GOLD into the line of STELLA CLARK (K Davidson) when not the required distance clear. Mr Williamson denied the charge. The matter was adjourned to the Matamata Racing Club's meeting on 8.12.04. This course was done because of Miss Davidson's injury. ----After hearing evidence from Mr Oatham, Mr Williamson, Mrs Thornton and Mrs Innes, and viewing the films we are left with a reasonable doubt as to whether your riding on this occasion was careless. We have determined that Mr Williamson's explanation of his mount shying is probable. ----We believe that this charge was properly put before us for it to be determined on its merits. ----Accordingly, the charge is dismissed. |
