Following Race 5 an information was filed pursuant to Rule 871(1)(d), when it was alleged by the informant, Mr C George, that Mrs L Allpress, the rider of WINSOME KASH, allowed her mount to shift in when not clear of POWER CUT

Following Race 5 an information was filed pursuant to Rule 871(1)(d), when it was alleged by the informant, Mr C George, that Mrs L Allpress, the rider of WINSOME KASH, allowed her mount to shift in when not clear of POWER CUT (L Cropp) who had to check near the winning post on the first round.

Mrs Allpress admitted the charge.

Mr Coles demonstrated the video film which showed Mrs Allpress allow her mount, WINSOME KASH, to move in and take the line of POWER CUT (L Cropp) when insufficiently clear. Mr Coles said Mrs Allpress was a bare length clear of Ms Cropp at the time.

Mrs Allpress, in her statement said, she saw a better position and did not realise Ms Cropp was there and she was clear.

Mr George produced Mrs Allpress' record and submitted a suspension of a minimum of 3 days should be imposed.

The committee considered all submissions and before imposing a penalty took the following into account ?

  3. Her guilty plea.
  4. --
  5. The status of the race ($60,000, stake and prize money back to 9th).
  6. --
  7. The degree of carelessness.

Accordingly, the committee imposed a suspension to start after racing on the 2nd of January 2007, up to and including the 11th of January 2007 (4 days).
