Following the running of Race 9, the Searells Chartered Accountants Classic, an information was laid by Chief Stipendiary Steward Mr N. R. Escott against Mr L. C. Driver, licensed trainer of PRESIDO (4), alleging a breach of Rules 865(1). It was alleged that Mr Driver failed to present PRESIDO in the identical gear it had raced in at its previous start at Rangiora on 25 September 2008. Tonight it was presented with a nasal strip which it did not wear at its previous start.
Following the running of Race 9, the Searells Chartered Accountants Classic, an information was laid by Chief Stipendiary Steward Mr N. R. Escott against Mr L. C. Driver, licensed trainer of PRESIDO (4), alleging a breach of Rules 865(1). It was alleged that Mr Driver failed to present PRESIDO in the identical gear it had raced in at its previous start at Rangiora on 25 September 2008. Tonight it was presented with a nasal strip which it did not wear at its previous start.

Mr Driver had indicated on the Information that he admitted this breach of the rules and that he did not wish to be present at this hearing.

Mr Escott recommended a fine of $200-00 for this breach. We were satisfied that this was an appropriate fine, and Mr Driver was fined this amount.
