--An Information instigating a protest was lodged by Stipendiary Steward Mr T Taumanu following the running of Race 9 and alleged that Horse number 13 SCUSI BOYZ placed 1st by the Judge had galloped too far when it broke at the start of the race.

Mrs McGowan owner of SCUSI BOYZ was present for the hearing and on service of the information endorsed it “I do not wish to contest the protest”

Video footage of the start of the race clearly showed SCUSI BOYZ break at the start of the race and to gallop past a marker at a point 150 metres from the start before trotting. Chief Stipendiary Steward Mr N ESCOTT referred to a number of marker pegs which clearly indicated the horse had galloped in excess of 150 metres putting it in breach of Rule 870 (3)

Accordingly the protest is upheld and subject to Rule 1003(2) SCUSI BOYZ is disqualified and the Judges placings are amended as follows
