Following the running of Race 9, the Porter Group Hyundai Construction Equipment NZ Trotting Free-For-All, an information was laid by Chief Stipendiary Steward Mr N. R. Escott against Mr C. Newfield the driver of Last Link (2), alleging that he had committed a breach of Rule 869(2)(a) in that he had used his whip excessively.
| -- DECISION AND REASONS: --Following the running of Race 9, the Porter Group Hyundai Construction Equipment NZ Trotting Free-For-All, an information was laid by Chief Stipendiary Steward Mr N. R. Escott against Mr C. Newfield the driver of Last Link (2), alleging that he had committed a breach of Rule 869(2)(a) in that he had used his whip excessively. --Mr Newfield had indicated on the information that he admitted this breach of the Rule, and that he did not wish to attend this hearing. Mr Escott had stated in the information that Mr Newfield had used his whip excessively in the run home and recommended a fine of $200-00. We were satisfied that the amount recommended was appropriate and Mr Newfield was fined the sum of $200-00. --
