Following the running of Race 2 on the programme, an Information was lodged against Mr K Nottingham, the trainer of WASH YOUR POCKETS, alleging a breach of Rule 864(2)(d), in that the hopple carrier strap on WASH YOUR POCKETS was not affixed properly, resulting in the front hopple coming adrift.
----Mr Nottingham admitted the breach and elected not to be present.
----Explaining the circumstances, Mr Escott said that, during the running of the race, the front hopple on WASH YOUR POCKETS came adrift and, as a result, the horse was unable to take any further part in the race, finishing a long last.
----He said this was Mr Nottingham’s first such breach, and he recommended a fine of $100.00.
----In this case, Mr Nottingham has admitted the breach and, without submissions to the contrary, I am satisfied the recommendation from the stipendiary stewards is appropriate and Mr Nottingham is fined the sum of $100.00.
