Dr Chin admitted the charge and elected to be present for the hearing.

Stipendiary Steward Mr J MUIRHEAD gave evidence and referred to side on and head on video footage of the start of Race 4. He explained that Horse 14 EREBUS driven by Dr CHIN had drawn barrier 6 on the second line. However the horse was slow in starting and commenced the race in barrier 5 on the third line.

Submissions for Penalty: Chin admitted his fault and said that he had been too far back at the start and did not have the speed to regain his correct starting position.

Mr Taumanu suggested a $200 fine was appropriate for the offending and this was accepted by Dr Chin as being reasonable

Accordingly a fine of $200 was applied
