An Information instigating a protest was lodged by Stipendiary Steward Mr T.W. Taumanu following the running of Race 6. It alleged that Horse 2 SLANGEVAR placed 4th by the Judge had broken from its gait in breach of Rule 870 in that it had galloped for the last 160 metres of the race.
----The Connections of the horse were represented by Trainer Mr B MANGOS who did not contest the protest.
----Video footage of the run home clearly supported the protest and as a result SLANGEVAR was disqualified.
