Following race 7 an information was filed pursuant to Rule 867(3)(c) when it was alleged by the informant, Stipendary Steward Mr A Coles that the defendant Mr B Peterson committed a breach of that rule when he presented the horse FIG JAM for plate inspection with excessively worn plates.

Mr Coles presented the plates which left no doubt that Mr Peterson had breached rule 867(3)(c).

Mr Peterson , in admitting the charge, was obviously disappointed that an oversight had seen this situation occurring.

Mr Cole asked for a fine of $200.

The committee, in accepting Mr Peterson’s admission of guilt is concerned that a license holder should present a horse with shoes in such a state and impose a fine of $250.
