Following race 6 an information was lodged by Stipendiary Steward Mr M Williamson requesting a ruling pursuant to rule 865(A) when it was reported that LITTLEMISSUNSHINE (R Jones) gate was slow to open.

Following race 6 an information was lodged by Stipendiary Steward Mr M Williamson requesting a ruling pursuant to rule 865(A) when it was reported that LITTLEMISSUNSHINE (R Jones) gate was slow to open.
--Mr Williamson said that immediately after race 6 the starter, Mr T Harrison, had alerted him that LITTLEMISSUNSHINE had been slow to begin because of the delayed opening of the starting gate. He asked that consideration be given to declaring the horse a non starter.
--The head on video of the start showed that when the start was made all of the gates except for gate 5 could be seen to open. Gate 5 was fully closed at that stage.
--After hearing from Mr R Jones who confirmed the observations and said that he had to force his way out, the committee is in no doubt that LITTLEMISSUNSHINE was delayed at the start due to the non opening of the starting gate and is therefore declared a non starter.
