An information was laid by Chief Stipendiary Steward Mr N. R. Escott against Mr G. W. Hunt, licensed trainer of "Vicolodance" (13), alleging a breach of Rule 834(2)(a). It was alleged that Mr Hunt late scratched his horse from Race 9 after the right of re-entry time which was 5-00pm today the 13 September 2007.

This matter was heard at Addington Raceway on 13 September 2007.

An information was laid by Chief Stipendiary Steward Mr N. R. Escott against Mr G. W. Hunt, licensed trainer of "Vicolodance" (13), alleging a breach of Rule 834(2)(a). It was alleged that Mr Hunt late scratched his horse from Race 9 after the right of re-entry time which was 5-00pm today the 13 September 2007.

Mr Escott had spoken to Mr Hunt on the phone during the evening, and Mr Hunt had advised that he admitted the breach. Mr R. A. Reekie, the owner of the horse, had signed the Information as Mr Hunt's agent, and had also indicated that the breach of the Rule was admitted and that Mr Hunt would not be attending the hearing.

Mr Escott gave evidence that as a result of this late scratching after the time for re-entry a balloted horse had been denied a start. A fine of $200-00 was recommended for this breach. I was satisfied that in the circumstances of this case a fine of $200-00 was appropriate and Mr Hunt was fined this amount.
