| -- DECISION & REASON: --After race 6 Stipendiary Steward Mr A Coles filed an information charging Mr M Hills rider of HALO with a breach of Rule 871(1)(d) in that he angled his mount outwards when not the required distance clear of NOTE (L Rutherford) causing a check to that runner. ----Mr Coles demonstrated the film which clearly showed Mr Hills' mount's outward movement when not clear and consequently interfering with NOTE. --Mr Coles added that Mr Hills had recently returned to riding and this was his first offence since resumption. ----Mr Hills had nothing further to add. ----PENALTY: --As Mr Hills had pleaded guilty the penalty was all to be considered. --After taking into consideration the nature of the interference, Mr Hills' guilty plea, and the status of the race meetings involved the Committee suspended Mr Hills from the completion of racing on 18 December until the completion of racing on 26 December 2004. -- |
