Mr W Coles you?ve admitted a breach of rule 508(2) in that together with Mr M Coles you failed to declare riders for WINDVALE JO in race 7 and ROCKEUR in race 10 by the required time.
----Mr Ching stated declarations closed at 4.30pm on the 23rd and the Coles' nominations were not received until 8.58am on the 24th. By way of explanation Mr W Coles said there had been a communication breakdown between himself and his father.
----Mr Ching asked for a penalty in the range of $50 to $150, adding that the Coles had had a warning for a similar matter on the 3rd of December last.
----Taking into account that this was the Coles' first breach of this rule, the fact that it occurred immediately prior to Xmas and this may explain their oversight, and their admission of the breach, we impose a fine of $100 and remind the trainers of their obligations under the Rules of Racing.
