Following the running of Race 1, the Christian Cullen Mobile Pace, an Information was filed by Stipendiary Steward Mr N. M. Ydgren against licensed trainer Mr R. D. Holmes alleging a breach of Rule 864(2)(d). It was alleged that the removable hood had not been affixed so as not to malfunction.

--On behalf of the trainer Mr J. C. Bennett had indicated on the Information that this breach of the Rules was admitted, and he confirmed this at the hearing.
--Mr McIntyre gave evidence and used video coverage to illustrate this incident. Mr Bennett could not offer any explanation as to why this gear did not activate. A fine of $100-00 was recommended.
--We were satisfied that as the breach was admitted, and as there were no previous convictions, that a fine of $100-00 was appropriate. Accordingly Mr Holmes was fined the sum of $100-00.
