Following race 1, an Information was filed against the trainers of Musgrove on a breach of Rule 865(1)(4), in that they failed to ensure that Musgrove raced in identical gear that it raced in on 28 December, namely a pacifier.

----On behalf of the trainers, co-trainer Mr D Butt admitted the breach and elected not to be present for the hearing.
----From the stipendiary stewards, the Committee heard that Musgrove appeared in the birdcage without a pacifier in which it last raced at Westport on 28 December, and Mr Butt acknowledged the error.
----Following submissions on penalty from the stewards, and in the absence of submissions from Mr Butt, the trainers were fined $100.00, a penalty consistent with other similar breaches.
