DECISION & REASONS:
--Following a protest and relegation Miss S Spratt admitted a breach of Rule 871 (1) (d) ? Careless Riding ? in that she permitted her mount BAILEYS COMET to shift outwards near the 600 metres dictating DAN HO, ridden by Mrs T Thornton, outwards. In the presence of her employer, Mr R Yuill, submissions as to penalty were made by Mr Coles, noting the relegation and the previous 4 day suspension in March and stating that this breach warranted a similar suspension.
--Miss S Spratt, having admitted the breach, asked for this to be taken into consideration when assessing the penalty and noted that she had engagements likely at the Blenheim meeting on 29th April.
--The judicial committee viewed the head on film to ascertain what degree of correction had been taken by Miss Spratt during the outward movement of BAILEYS COMET. Mr Yuill also noted attempts at corrective action by Miss Spratt on two occasions.
--The panel took these submissions into consideration and suspended Miss Spratt from riding from the conclusion of racing on Saturday 28th April until the conclusion of racing on Saturday 5th May 2007. This was effectively a 4 day suspension.
