At the conclusion of Race 1, the TSK White Ltd Special Handicap Trot, a protest was lodged by Stipendiary Steward Mr P T Knowles into the horse BOYZ SUCCESS, placed third by the judge, alleging that BOYZ SUCCESS broke short of the finish line and was lapped on by the 4th and 5th placed horses.
At the conclusion of Race 1, the TSK White Ltd Special Handicap Trot, a protest was lodged by Stipendiary Steward Mr P T Knowles into the horse BOYZ SUCCESS, placed third by the judge, alleging that BOYZ SUCCESS broke short of the finish line and was lapped on by the 4th and 5th placed horses.
--Mr Knowles used several video clips of the alleged incident and also produced the official judge’s photo to highlight his evidence.
--Mr D Dunn, driver of BOYZ SUCCESS and Mr N Chalmers, trainer of BOYZ SUCCESS, both agreed with Mr Knowles’ summation of the events, and as a result the protest was upheld. Clearly BOYZ SUCCESS was out of its gait at the finish line and the Lapped on Rule applied – BOYZ SUCCESS was relegated from third to fifth placing. The official judge’s places now read :
