Following race 6 an information was filed pursuant to Rules 871(1)(d) when it was alleged by the informant, Stipendary Steward A R Coles, that L Callaway permitted his mount MANGO TREE to shift inwards approximately 100 metres after the start when not sufficiently clear

Following race 6 an information was filed pursuant to Rules 871(1)(d) when it was alleged by the informant, Stipendary Steward A R Coles, that L Callaway permitted his mount MANGO TREE to shift inwards approximately 100 metres after the start when not sufficiently clear of MOSS KEEN, who was dictated in, crowding TED TYNDEL, FORELSA, SAUCY AS, and RED SQUARE.
--Mr Callaway, who admitted the charge, was represented by Mr R Dowling.
--Mr J Oatham demonstrated the video which clearly showed Mr Callaway on MANGO TREE moving across when not sufficiently clear and the resultant interference suffered by MOSS KEEN, TED TYNDALL, FORESA, SAUCY AZ and RED SQUARE.
--As Mr Callaway has admitted the charge the committee is only required to adjudicate on penalty.
--PENALTY:
--Mr Coles gave Mr Callaway's record which shows 5 charges during year 2006. He said that taking into account this record and the level of interference he asked for a 4 day suspension.
--Mr Callaway said that he rode in the South Island as well as all of the North Island.
--The committee, like Mr Coles, is concerned with Mr Callaway's record. After taking all matters into account we suspend Mr Callaway from riding commencing at the conclusion of racing on 24 March until the conclusion of racing on 4 April.
