Following the running of Race 4, www.standardbredsonline.com Mobile Pace, an information was filed by Stipendiary Steward, Mrs K R Williams, against Licensed Public Trainer, Mr D A Taylor, alleging a breach of Rule 864 (2) (d) in that “the near side pull down blind on POTENTIALLY PERFECT [trained by him] failed to activate”.

Following the running of Race 4, www.standardbredsonline.com Mobile Pace, an information was filed by Stipendiary Steward, Mrs K R Williams, against Licensed Public Trainer, Mr D A Taylor, alleging a breach of Rule 864 (2) (d) in that “the near side pull down blind on POTENTIALLY PERFECT [trained by him] failed to activate”.
--Mr Taylor had signed the Statement by the Defendant on the information form indicating, firstly, that he admitted the breach and, secondly, that he did not wish to be present at the hearing of the information. The breach was found proved accordingly.
--Rule 864 provides as follows:
(2) Every horseman, owner, trainer and assistant thereof shall with regard to that horse ensure that:-
(d) all gear is correctly applied and/or affixed so as not to malfunction or come adrift.
Mrs Williams told the Committee that the driver of POTENTIALLY PERFECT (C J De Filippi) had reported to the Stewards, following the running of the Race, that the near side pull-down blind on the horse had failed to activate.
--Mrs Williams recommended a fine of $100.
--Mr Taylor was fined the sum of $100.
