| ---- Mr Allison, assistant stipendiary steward, after race 8 laid an information alleging that contrary to rule 864(2)(d) a hopple was attached to the horse COOL RIPPLE the incorrect way, in that it was placed back to front. He stated that this came to the attention of the driver of COOL RIPPLE before the start and as a consequence the start had to be delayed for two minutes so the matter could be rectified. Mr Hunter admitted the breach stating it was not so much back to front as the hopple having a twist in it. --Mr Hunter's record in respect of this rule is clear and he has co-operated with the stipendiary stewards. Mr Allison submitted a fine of $100 was appropriate. I agree. Mr Hunter is fined the sum of $100 and reminded of his obligations under the Rules of Harness Racing. |
