--Mr Hawea told the committee that Mr Du Plessis weighed out for Race 10 at the correct weight of 57 kgs however after winning the race on Heza Scoudrel and unsaddling he realized that he was missing his lead bag. Mr Du Plessis weighed in at 55.5 kgs. The missing lead bag was subsequently found in the tie-up stalls of the stables.
--Rule 857 (3) states " If, on being weighed in, a rider cannot draw the proper weight (meaning thereby the weight allotted by the Handicapper for his horse to carry and adjusted only by any re-handicap, by declared overweight, by penalty or by authorized allowance) the Clerk of the Scales shall allow such rider 0.5 kg and if the allowance is not sufficient to enable the proper weight to be drawn the horse shall be disqualified for the race."
--As Mr Du Plessis was 1.5 kgs under the allotted weight the Committee disqualified Heza Scoundrel from the race and ordered that the placings be amended accordingly.
